Tianya Seed Industry relies on science and technology to introduce the breeding talents and resources as a means to build a commercial breeding platform based on the enterprise. By increasing investment and integrating resources, it is committed to building a first-class breeding team, and the research and breeding work has achieved initial results. The company has successively built two breeding breeding research bases, Xiangxiang Xiangdong and Hainan Sanya, and established the “Jiangxi Hybrid Rice Breeding Technology Innovation Team” and “Jiangxi Huasheng Rice Synergy Innovation Co., Ltd.” and the Tianya Seeds Academician Workstation. Six breeding research groups led by breeding experts such as Tang Xianyan and Song Jinchang were established. The breeding content covers three seasons of early, middle and late, three series, two-line hybrid rice and conventional rice, and more than 60 golds have been established at home and abroad. Variety ecological test and rice blast identification point, each year more than 100 new combinations (variety) are selected to participate in regional trials at home and abroad in Jiangxi Province, and the number of varieties is 10 per year. At the same time, in order to meet the market demand, we have created a large number of high-quality germplasm materials with high quality, multi-resistance and high yield. We have selected rice varieties with moderate maturity, high quality, multi-resistance, high yield and suitable for light and simplified cultivation. The last mile of the needs of the majority of farmers has been solved. The commercial breeding of the company has entered the advanced industries of domestic enterprises.

Yu Qiuping: Director of Research, Dean of Tianya Seed Industry Academy


He has served as a member of the Rice Professional Group of the 7th and 8th Jiangxi Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee. In September 2011, the Provincial Science and Technology Department approved the third batch of superior technology innovation teams in Jiangxi Province - the head of the hybrid rice breeding technology innovation team. In January 2013, he served as the director of the sixth council of the Jiangxi Agricultural Society and the deputy director of the seed professional committee.


At present, he is the general manager of Tianya Seed Industry Breeding Research, responsible for formulating the company's scientific research and development plan, maintaining close contact with relevant scientific research and promotion units; responsible for organizing the research and implementation of scientific research and promotion projects; responsible for formulating company variety breeding, ecological testing, and district Program formulation and implementation management of trial and certification, pilot demonstration and comprehensive supporting technology research. The self-breeding work is mainly the creation of the restoration system. More than 2,000 excellent germplasm resources were introduced from inside and outside the province, and more than 10,000 intermediate materials and high-generation materials were created. There are already agricultural aromas of Huahua, Luliangyou 538, and Q elegant silk. And other varieties passed the examination. The three-line superiority recovery system “Qi Qing” has been declared the national plant new variety right.


Tang Xianyan research direction: two-line hybrid rice in the Yangtze River Basin; three lines of early and late rice


Tang Xianyan, a senior agronomist, has participated in the breeding project of the high-yield, high-quality, multi-resistant hybrid early rice combination in the Yangtze River Basin since the '7th Five-Year', '8th Five-Year' and 'Ninth Five-Year Plan' and the National '863' Project Collaboration Project “Selection of new high-quality super hybrid rice combination in the Yangtze River Basin” and selection of new high-quality three-line hybrid rice combination in Hunan Province, and more than 10 new rice varieties were bred. Outstanding results are the combination of the "R402 Restoration System" and the "Weiyou 402" and "Jinyou 402" formulated with the R402 Restoration System. “Weiyou 402” and “Jinyou 402” were once the largest area for the promotion of the three-line hybrid early rice in the Yangtze River Basin in China, and have become the main variety for many years. They have been the control varieties for the early miscellaneous regional trials in the country and other provinces. He has written more than 10 papers on breeding, published in "Hybrid Rice", "Crop Research", "Seed" and other journals; in 2012, after being hired to Tianya Seed Industry, he has developed a number of national trials and provincial trial hybrid rice combinations. The outstanding achievements include: hosting the strong recovery system of “Ya Zhan” and its series of combinations, which have made outstanding contributions to the society and the company. “Ya Zhan” originated from “Hua Zhan” and was even better than “Hua Zhan”. It was called by the authorities in the industry to be a successful example of the improvement of the “Hua Zhan” recovery system.


Song Jinchang's research direction: three-line sterile line and combination breeding


Song Jinchang, a senior agronomist, has been engaged in hybrid rice breeding research in the Agricultural Research Institute of Xingning County, Guangdong Province, and the Rice Research Institute of the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In December 1998, he was transferred to Guangdong Jindao Seed Industry Co., Ltd. as the production manager, responsible for parent breeding and seed production in Hainan, and part-time breeding. In November 2012, he was employed by Tianya Seeds to work full-time on hybrid rice breeding research.


From 1987 to 2011, the CMS, Congtai A, Jinchang A, Jindaojing S and other sterile lines were selected and hosted or participated in the selection of Yuyou 3550, Tianyou 196 and Wuyou 189. Jinchangyou 308, Eryou Jinyu and other series of hybrid late glutinous rice (糯) new combination.


The main characteristics of the sterile line selected by Song Jinchang are strong tillering power, excellent rice quality, good heterosexual habits and stable fertility. At present, there are Changsheng 843A, 709A\Changxiang 709A, 855A, Changxiang 1209A, 1555A, 1551A, etc., and a number of new combinations have been tested and participated in the pre-regional trials of rice in and outside the province. Among them, Changyou Huazhan has been examined and approved. The combination of Changsheng 843A, Taixiang 1209A and other sterile lines has excellent performance and good resistance, and has a broad market prospect.


Zhang Qiubao's research direction: regular high quality early and late rice in the Yangtze River Basin


Zhang Qiubai, who entered the Rice Research Institute of Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1991, is engaged in rice breeding in the morning and evening. In 1996, as the main researcher of the research group, he was engaged in the breeding of three-line hybrid rice, two-line hybrid rice, three-line sterile line and photo-thermophilic genic male sterile line until 2011. In August 2011, he was hired to work in Tianya Seeds.


During the period of 1991-2010, the combination of Xiangyue No. 2, Xiangzao No. 15, Xiangzao No. 38 (Xiangzao 143), Zhu Liangyou 505, Lu Liangyou No. 8, 33S, etc. The Department of Education has been approved at the provincial (national level) level.


After Zhang Qiubiao came to Tianya Seeds, he did a lot of preliminary work in the field of early rice breeding. Combined with the yield and the identification of Jinggangshan resistance, a batch of two-line early and late rice restorer materials and combinations were screened out. A group of superior three-line restoration systems were selected: Feng Zhan, Zaozhan, etc. The “source 12A” and “source Yuhuazhan” independently selected for breeding were approved by Jiangxi.
